By placing an order with Veteran Career Counseling Services (VCCS), you agree that you are legally bound by and will agree to the terms outlined on this page. VCCS may update this page at any time, though you will remain bound to the terms and conditions in place at the time of your order.
You agree to pay the published price for your order and 5% sales tax, and authorize VCCS to charge your credit card and/or PayPal account for this amount in accordance with your cardmember agreement.
You hereby agree and consent to venue in the State of Virginia in the event that legal action regarding VCCS or your order is necessary.
You are entirely responsible for the accuracy and veracity of data provided VCCS. VCCS has no way to verify information submitted by you and cannot be held responsible for inaccuracies, falsehoods and/or fraud committed by you.
We try our best to deliver a first draft of our products to the clients within the stated timeframes – and we meet these timelines the overwhelming majority of the time. However, because of the interactive and collaborative nature of this process between the client and the writer, we cannot always guarantee that we meet those established timelines. Our writers’ ability to fulfill this commitment will depend on the clients’ responsiveness to the writers’ follow-on questions. If the writer determines that the client is not responding in a timely manner, the writer may be forced to deliver the products to the client outside of that window.
We strongly encourage our clients to be as responsive as possible, as it’s critical to facilitating an efficient and timely process. Barring an unforeseen emergency or situation where the client is unable to access the internet for a prolonged period, we ask that original documents (old résumés, evals, awards, certifications, etc.) are submitted within 24-48hrs of ordering; and once we send the client a draft for their review that they respond within 24-48hrs as well. Failure to comply with these request could result in a the client being assessed a $20 convenience fee.
VCCS takes the security of your personal information very seriously; and as result, we’ve taken a series of steps to safeguard your personal information. Our dedicated servers meet the strictest security requirements. Any personal information you share with us, remains with us. We do not share you personal information with any third parties. We strongly urge all of our clients to blackout or otherwise make illegible all social security numbers. If your resume requires a SSN be entered, as is the case with most federal resumes, we kindly ask that you add that information yourself following receipt of the final draft. VCCS will not be held liable for any financial damage done to you as result of theft of your personal data.
Work Product Ownership
Once you agree that we have completed your purchase to your satisfaction, you will own the products purchased, and VCCS shall not have any claim to work product ownership. In the event that VCCS refuses, cancels or otherwise refunds your order, you will not own the products purchased and may not use them under any circumstances.
VCCS guarantees satisfaction on all purchases. If, after five attempts to remedy problems and/or issues you identify, you remain unsatisfied, we will return 100% of the purchase price paid, if requested in writing. If your purchase is not available for delivery and/or download by the time specified on your order confirmation email, we will return 100% of the purchase price paid.
In the rare occasion that a client becomes extremely uncooperative or exhibits behavior that is deemed disrespectful to the resume writer or career coach, VCCS may at its sole discretion, discontinue working with the client’s order and issue either a partial refund or no refund all.
VCCS stays in contact with our clients primarily via email. We publish a quarterly newsletter and send periodic emails about news, information and promotions pertaining to veterans. By either ordering one of our services or submitting for a resume evaluation, your email will be automatically included on our email list. You may unsubscribe at any time by either clicking the unsubscribe link on the email, or emailing email@example.com with a request to be taken off the newsletter distro list.
Scope of this Policy
This policy applies to information we collect or use on sites and applications owned or controlled by VCCS. VCCS is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of other websites.
Information We Collect
We collect information about you when you use our sites and applications. We collect information directly from you such as your contact information, resume, and profile information. We receive and store this information when you enter it on our website, send it to us, or provide it to us in any other way.
We do not collect information about you automatically such as information about your computer or mobile device.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to provide our services, respond to you, operate and improve our sites and applications, and foster a positive user experience.
to provide you with additional communications, information, and promotions such as newsletters and career advice;
to enable you to contact us and for us to respond to you to conduct surveys, promotions and contests, and to publish the results thereof;
to help potential employers find your profile and connect with you;
to give search engines access to public information;
While VCCS takes measures to safeguard your information from unauthorized access or inappropriate use, VCCS does not control these third parties and we are not responsible for their use of information you give to us. Accordingly, you should not post sensitive information such as your social security number, or any other information you would not want made public.
By applying to a job, providing your contact information to show interest in a job, or by replying to a message from an employer, you consent to the disclosure of your information to that employer.
An Important Note About Your Resume
When you create or post a resume, we store it in our resume and profile database in the United States. You may control the status of your resume by setting it to active or inactive. Active resumes can be viewed by anyone with access to our resume and profile database. We cannot control the retention, use or privacy of resumes that have been viewed or downloaded by others.
Inactive resumes will not be visible to employers. You may still use your private resume to apply online to a job. If you do, your resume will be transferred to the relevant employer, who may retain a copy of your resume or distribute it to third parties.
You may remove your resume and profile from our database at any time. If you do not have an account with us, we may require you to provide us with information about yourself so we can locate your profile and delete it.
Resumes or profiles you give to us must not contain sensitive data relating to your (i) racial or ethnic origin (ii) political beliefs (iii) philosophical or religious beliefs (iv) membership of a trade union or political party (v) physical or mental health or biometric details or genetic makeup (vi) addictions, sexual life (vii) the commission of criminal offences or proceedings and associated penalties or fines, (viii) the commission of any unlawful or objectionable conduct and associated penalties, or (ix) any Social Security Number or national identification number. If your resume or profile does contain this information, then you agree that it is at your own risk. We cannot control third parties’ access to such information from our database.
You are responsible for keeping your username and password secret.
VCCS takes great measures to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access. However, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat those measures or use your personal information for improper purposes.
When you place an order online at VCCS, your credit card information is encrypted with industry standard encryption.

Understanding your rights and responsibilities as a VCCS user
These Terms constitute a binding agreement between You and VCCS. If You do not accept the Terms stated here, do not use the VCCS Sites and the VCCS Services.
The VCCS Sites are defined as any Web sites under VCCS’s control. VCCS Services are defined as the applications and services offered by VCCS, including an on-line service to post and search employment opportunities.
Users who violate these Terms may have their access and use of the VCCS Sites suspended or terminated, at VCCS’s discretion.
You must be 18 years of age or older to use VCCS Site in any manner, and, if under the age of 18 use must be conducted under the supervision of a parent, or legal guardian.
You may not use the VCCS Content or Profiles to determine a consumer’s eligibility for: (a) credit or insurance for personal, family, or household purposes; (b) or (c) a government license or benefit.
Use of VCCS Content.
VCCS authorizes You, subject to these Terms, to access and use the VCCS Sites and the VCCS Content (as defined below) and to download and print a single copy of the content available on or from the VCCS Sites solely for Your professional, non-commercial use. Unauthorized use of the VCCS Content may violate these laws and/or applicable communications regulations and statutes, and is strictly prohibited. You must preserve all copyright, trademark, service mark and other proprietary notices contained in the original VCCS Content on any authorized copy You make of the VCCS Content.
Any code that VCCS creates to generate or display any VCCS Content or the pages making up any VCCS Site is also protected by VCCS’s copyright and You may not copy or adapt such code.
Use of the VCCS Services.
The Job Board of VCCS Sites may be used only by individuals seeking employment and/or career information and by employers seeking employees.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of Your account, Profile and passwords, as applicable. You may not share Your password or other account access information with any other party, temporarily or permanently, and You shall be responsible for all uses of Your VCCS Site registrations and passwords, whether or not authorized by You. You agree to immediately notify VCCS of any unauthorized use of Your account, Profile, or passwords.
All VCCS Users agree to not:
(b) post any content or material that promotes or endorses false or misleading information or illegal activities, or endorses or provides instructional information about illegal activities or other activities prohibited by these Terms, such as making or buying illegal weapons, violating someone’s privacy, providing or creating computer viruses or pirating media;
(c) post any resume or Profile or apply for any job on behalf of another party;
(d) share with a third party any login credentials to any VCCS Site;
(e) post or submit to any VCCS Site any incomplete, false or inaccurate biographical information or information which is not Your own;
(f) post content that contains restricted or password-only access pages, or hidden pages or images;
(g) solicit passwords or personally identifiable information from other Users;
(h) delete or alter any material posted by any other person or entity;
(i) harass, incite harassment or advocate harassment of any group, company, or individual;
(j) send unsolicited mail or email, make unsolicited phone calls or send unsolicited faxes promoting and/or advertising products or services to any User, or contact any users that have specifically requested not to be contacted by You;
(k) attempt to interfere with service to any User, host or network, including, without limitation, via means of submitting a virus to any VCCS Site, overloading, “flooding”, “spamming”, “mailbombing” or “crashing”;
(l) use the VCCS Services for any unlawful purpose or any illegal activity, or post or submit any content, resume, or job posting that is defamatory, libelous, implicitly or explicitly offensive, vulgar, obscene, threatening, abusive, hateful, racist, discriminatory, of a menacing character or likely to cause annoyance, or embarrassment.
Violations of system or network security may result in civil and/or criminal liability.
Additional Terms Applicable to Employers.
Employers are solely responsible for their postings on VCCS Sites. VCCS is not to be considered to be an employer with respect to Your use of any VCCS Site and VCCS shall not be responsible for any employment decisions, for whatever reason, made by any entity posting jobs on any VCCS Site.
You understand and acknowledge that if You cancel Your employer account or Your employer account is terminated, all Your account information from VCCS, including saved resumes, network contacts.
A Job posting may not contain:
(a) any hyperlinks, other than those specifically authorized by VCCS;
(b) misleading, unreadable, or “hidden” keywords, repeated keywords or keywords that are irrelevant to the job opportunity being presented, as determined in VCCS’s reasonable discretion;
(c) the names of colleges, cities, states, towns or countries that are unrelated to the posting;
(d) more than one job or job description, more than one location, or more than one job category, unless the product so allows;
(e) inaccurate, false, or misleading or sexually explicit information
(f) material or links to material that exploits people in a sexual, violent or other manner, or solicits personal information from anyone under 18.
You may not use Your VCCS job posting to:
(a) post jobs in a manner that does not comply with applicable local, national and international laws, including but not limited to laws relating to labor and employment, equal employment opportunity and employment eligibility requirements, data privacy, data access and use, and intellectual property;
(b) post jobs that require citizenship of any particular country or lawful permanent residence in a country as a condition of employment, unless otherwise required in order to comply with law, regulations, executive order, or federal, state or local government contract;
(c) post jobs or other advertisements for competitors of VCCS or post jobs or other content that contains links to any site competitive with VCCS;
(d) sell, promote or advertise products or services;
(e) post any franchise, pyramid scheme, “club membership”, distributorship, multi-level marketing opportunity, or sales representative agency arrangement;
(f) post any business opportunity that requires an up front or periodic payment or requires recruitment of other members, sub-distributors or sub-agents;
(g) post any business opportunity that pays commission only unless the posting clearly states that the available job pays commission only and clearly describes the product or service that the job seeker would be selling;
(h) promote any opportunity that does not represent bona fide employment which is generally indicated by the employer’s use of IRS forms W-2 or 1099;
(i) advertise sexual services or seek employees for jobs of a sexual nature;
(j) request the use of human body parts or the donation of human parts, including, without limitation, reproductive services such as egg donation and surrogacy;
(k) endorse a particular political party, political agenda, political position or issue;
(l) promote a particular religion;
(m) post jobs located in countries subject to economic sanctions of the United States Government; and
(n) except where allowed by applicable law, post jobs which require the applicant to provide information relating to his/her (i) racial or ethnic origin (ii) political beliefs (iii) philosophical or religious beliefs (iv) membership of a trade union (v) physical or mental health (vi) sexual life (vii) the commission of criminal offences or proceedings or (vii) age.
VCCS reserves the right to remove any job posting or content from any VCCS Site, which in the reasonable exercise of VCCS’s discretion, does not comply with the above Terms, or if any content is posted that VCCS believes is not in the best interest of VCCS.
If at any time during Your use of the VCCS Services, You made a misrepresentation of fact to VCCS or otherwise misled VCCS in regards to the nature of Your business activities, VCCS will have grounds to terminate Your use of the VCCS Services.
Use of the VCCS Job Board by Employers
You shall use the VCCS Job Board as provided in these Terms. You shall use the VCCS Job Board in accordance with all applicable privacy and data protection laws, and You agree You shall not further disclose any of the data from VCCS Job Board to any third party, unless You are an authorized recruitment agency, staffing agency, or using the resume for employment purposes.
You shall take appropriate physical, technical, and administrative measures to protect the data You have obtained from VCCS Job Board from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. You shall not share Job Board seat-based license login credentials with any other party, nor share Job Board pay-per-view license login credentials with any party.
The VCCS Job Board shall not be used:
(a) for any purpose other than as an employer seeking employees, including but not limited to advertising promotions, products, or services to any resume holders;
(b) to make unsolicited phone calls or faxes or send unsolicited mail, email, or newsletters to resume holders or to contact any individual unless they have agreed to be contacted (where consent is required or, if express consent is not required, who has not informed you that they do not want to be contacted)
(c) to source candidates or to contact job seekers or resume holders in regards to career fairs and business opportunities prohibited by Section 3.
In order to ensure a safe and effective experience for all of our customers, VCCS reserves the right to limit the amount of data (including resume views) that may be accessed by You in any given time period. These limits may be amended in VCCS’s sole discretion from time to time.
Additional terms applicable to Job Seekers.
When You register with any VCCS Site, You will be asked to create an account and provide VCCS with certain information including, without limitation, a valid email address (Your “Information”).
Any Profile You submit must be accurate and describe You, an individual person. You acknowledge and agree that You are solely responsible for the form, content and accuracy of any resume or material contained therein placed by You on the VCCS Sites.
You understand and acknowledge that You have no ownership rights in Your account and that if You cancel Your VCCS account or Your VCCS account is terminated, all Your account information from VCCS, including resumes, Profiles, cover letters, saved jobs, questionnaires will be marked as deleted in and may be deleted from VCCS’s databases and will be removed from any public area of the VCCS Sites. Information may continue to be available for some period of time because of delays in propagating such deletion through VCCS’s web servers. In addition, third parties may retain saved copies of Your Information.
VCCS reserves the right to delete Your account and all of Your Information after a significant duration of inactivity.
4. VCCS’s Liability.
The VCCS Sites act as, among other things, venues for (i) employers to post job opportunities and search for and evaluate job candidates and (ii) candidates to post resumes and Profiles and search for and evaluate job opportunities. VCCS does not screen or censor the listings, including Profiles offered. VCCS is not involved in, and does not control, the actual transaction between employers and candidates. As a result, VCCS is not responsible for User Content, the quality, safety or legality of the jobs or resumes posted, the truth or accuracy of the listings, the ability of employers to offer job opportunities to candidates or the ability of candidates to fill job openings and VCCS makes no representations about any jobs, resumes or User Content on the VCCS Sites. While VCCS reserves the right in its sole discretion to remove User Content, job postings, resumes or other material from the VCCS Sites from time to time, VCCS does not assume any obligation to do so and to the extent permitted by law, disclaims any liability for failing to take any such action.
VCCS encourages You to keep a back-up copy of any of Your User Content. To the extent permitted by law, in no event shall VCCS be liable for the deletion, loss, or unauthorized modification of any User Content.
5. Disclaimer of Warranty.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT POSSIBLE BY LAW, VCCS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT ANY VCCS SITE OR ANY VCCS SERVICES WILL OPERATE ERROR-FREE OR THAT ANY VCCS SITE AND ITS SERVERS ARE FREE OF COMPUTER VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL MECHANISMS. IF YOUR USE OF ANY VCCS SITE OR THE VCCS CONTENT RESULTS IN THE NEED FOR SERVICING OR REPLACING EQUIPMENT OR DATA OR ANY OTHER COSTS, VCCS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THOSE COSTS. THE VCCS SITES AND VCCS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” BASIS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. VCCS, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. VCCS MAKES NO WARRANTIES ABOUT THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, COMPLETENESS, OR TIMELINESS OF THE VCCS CONTENT, SERVICES, SOFTWARE, TEXT, GRAPHICS, AND LINKS.
6. Disclaimer of Consequential Damages.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT POSSIBLE BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VCCS OR ANY THIRD PARTIES MENTIONED ON ANY VCCS SITE BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, LOST PROFITS, OR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM LOST DATA, LOST EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) RESULTING FROM THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE ANY VCCS SITE AND THE VCCS CONTENT, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT VCCS IS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
7. Limitation of Liability.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT POSSIBLE BY LAW, VCCS’S MAXIMUM LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH ANY VCCS SITE OR YOUR USE OF THE VCCS CONTENT, REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION (WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, BREACH OF WARRANTY OR OTHERWISE), WILL NOT EXCEED $100.
8. Links to Other Sites.
The VCCS Sites contain links to third party Web sites. These links are provided solely as a convenience to You and not as an endorsement by VCCS of the contents on such third-party Web sites. VCCS is not responsible for the content of linked third-party sites and does not make any representations regarding the content or accuracy of materials on such third party Web sites. If You decide to access linked third-party Web sites, You do so at Your own risk.
9. Term and Termination.
These Terms will remain in full force and effect while You are a User of any VCCS Site. VCCS reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to pursue all of its legal remedies, including but not limited to removal of Your User Content from the VCCS Sites and immediate termination of Your registration with or ability to access the VCCS Sites and/or any other services provided to You by VCCS, upon any breach by You of these Terms or if VCCS is unable to verify or authenticate any information You submit to a VCCS Site registration. Even after You are no longer a User of the VCCS Sites, certain provisions of these Terms will remain in effect, including Sections 1, 2, 5, 7 through 16, inclusive.
VCCS may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version to this Web page. You should visit this page periodically to review the most current Terms because they are binding on You.
